The clear width of a door opening to a building should be at least 920 mm from the door frame to the face of the door when the door is fully open at a 90-degree angle. Wider door openings are preferred to better accommodate people who use a guide dog.
Turnstiles and revolving doors can be difficult for guide dog users to walk through since the clear width is often inadequate. Where turnstiles and revolving doors do exist, an adjacent gate or door with a clear width of 920 mm should be available.
