Avoid steps at public entrances to a building. If steps are unavoidable, install an adjacent ramp leading to the public entrance. Doors should have a clear and level area on both sides, no less than 1,500 x 1,500 mm on the pull side and 1,200 x 1,200 mm on the push side. The width of the clear space should be measured from the hinge side of the door.
