Walkways, stairs, ramps and entrances must be kept clear of snow and ice at all times.
Stairs and ramps (including curb ramps and depressed curbs) should have their full width cleared of ice and snow. Install heating surfaces on ramps and stairs to melt snow and ice.
Walkways and entrances should have a strip at least 1,200 mm wide that is clear of snow, and blended curbs should be cleared to the road.
Use sand instead of salt on paths, ramps and stairs. Salt can be very harmful to the paws of guide dogs and other service animals.
